Job Description
Software AG Government Solutions is seeking a Director of Technical Solutions, reporting to the company’s CTO. This highly qualified candidate will deliver customer success by building and managing a special-forces team to support the license sales team in pre-sales efforts. Day to day responsibilities will include both management and execution, implementation strategy, scoping and building the organization to hands-on leadership directly in the market and with customers.  The Director will be a key member of the executive & leadership team. Working closely with the CEO & Sales Leadership. This is an important and strategic role within the company, and our expectations are equally high. This role is responsible to give constant feedback with regards to solution creation and enhancement to the various account teams.  We have a primary focus on webMethods for our customers in the Civilian, Defense, and Intelligence Community agencies and their suppliers in the Aerospace & Defense Industries

Primary Job Responsibilities
• Develop and implement the processes and strategies that your Sales Engineers use to interact with customers, Sales and other teams, to be highly effective and scalable.
• Drive high performance in the Pre-sales team through managing, coaching and providing quality feedback.
• Develop technical sales strategies that increase win conversion.
• Drive operational excellence by implementing processes and policies that create efficiencies during a time of growth.
• Ensure strong feedback loops between the Solution Engineering team and the Sales, Marketing and Professional Services organizations.
• Stay up to date on industry trends through self-study, research, and online courses as needed.
• Monitor the Pre-sales team and how the license sales teams interact with them and help ensure priorities are being aligned properly.
• Deepen your understanding of Software AG Government Solutions market and competitors to understand key points of differentiation and value.
• Work closely with executive leadership.
• Meet assigned targets for profitable sales growth.
• Be a strong dotted-line manager and supporter of the Consulting team.
• Ensure that your team assists the sales and consulting team and is available to help with escalations when required.
• Oversee and support the execution of RFI/RFP/RFQs
• Provide the Marketing team with technical information and insights to assist with content creation, webinars, and trade shows.
Requirements and Experience
• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or another computer related degree
•  7+ years of related work experience in a Technical pre-sales role and 5+ years in a technical management role
• Experience in technical solution selling methodology
• Strong management and leadership abilities
• The ability to function in a “Player/Coach” role to guide and assist your team
• Demonstrate excellent customer service, effective communication, strong problem-solving ability, organizational abilities, and polished presentation skills
• Willingness to travel to customer sites in the metropolitan, regional or national area as necessary
• You have worked in high-growth environments and have built technical teams
• You have experience managing, coaching and growing other Solutions Engineers and Managers/Team Leads
• You have at least 5 years in SaaS, preferably with the Federal Government
• You care deeply about culture and values, and can be a steward for transparency, collaboration, inclusiveness, and accountability
• You work closely with your peer organizations to ensure cross-team collaboration is effective
• You have outstanding communication and presentation skills, including the ability to effectively interface with business, executive, and technical teams
• U.S. Citizenship
• An active U.S. Government Security clearance is preferred
